FC 26 prep: stop pre-building your XI (do this instead)

Leaks look mostly right; forget building squads for FC 26, turn off Time Finishing, and don’t relearn Precision Shooting a week before launch.

1) Leaks (how to use them)

• Rating leaks line up with EA’s top-rated cards, so some of it is likely accurate.

• Expect minor PlayStyle changes until launch.

• The database is rumoured for the 12th — treat everything as provisional until then.
  Action: Look for some Key Meta players - forget squad building

2) Team building (don’t lock a full squad)

Everyone draws the “perfect” day-one team. Then you pack a monster and tear it up.
Do this instead:

• Choose 3–5 Key players (e.g., 2 STs you trust from my YT vids, a DM, a CB, a GK).

• Build around those and pivot instantly if pack luck hits (LaLiga plan becomes Prem if you pack Haaland).

• Always change it up and adapt, just find those meta players ideally a top tier Striker, CDM, GK for your money, wingers you can get away with cheap pacey players.

3) Settings to change now

• Time Finishing = Off (Settings → Controller → Gameplay) — protect your finishing muscle memory. Trust me don’t leave this too late now.

• Precision Shooting: if you’ve never used it, don’t relearn a week before release. Test casually only.

• Keep your finishing inputs unchanged for 7 days so finishing feels automatic on day one.

4) FC Points (heads-up)

Grant looks lower this year (~2,000 vs ~6,000 previously). Hold fire on pack plans until we see the exact bundles.

5) Why haven’t I started this newsletter earlier?

To tell you the truth, in my typical no b/s manner, honestly I just didn’t have the time, truth is when its peak FC, its get dropped to the bottom of my “to-do” list as I am always playing catch up and never ahead, but just short information like this can be done quickly.
